Q. I moved to LA 3 years
ago and have since had a horrible skin allergy (on my face).
I went to the dermatologist and they gave me a skin lotion that resulted
in lessening the allergies (rash) for a few days but it then would return
later. I'm wondering if a mold can cause an allergy to the skin.
I removed a lot of old books from my room and did find some mold down in
the corner. A friend of mine had to evacuate his house because of the type
of mold that was found in his home. Please help.
A. Exposure to
mold infestation can cause severe skin rashes, skin diseases, and open
skin wounds. As one example of severe skin damage that is mold-caused,
